Let me save you twenty minutes of Googling and one expensive mistake about getting from Seville Airport to Cadiz.
I do the Seville Airport to Cadiz route several times a week. In fact, it is one of the most common journeys for visitors arriving in Andalusia. SVQ to Cadiz, door to door, in about one hour fifteen minutes depending on traffic. Unfortunately, I also pick up clients who took the wrong advice online, waited two hours for connections, dragged luggage across two bus terminals, and arrived at their hotel exhausted before their trip even started. Unfortunately, that happens more often than it should.
So, this guide covers every realistic option for getting from Seville Airport (officially called Sevilla Airport, IATA code SVQ) to Cádiz: private taxi and transfer, van for groups, bus, train, and rental car. In addition, I will explain what each option actually costs, how long it really takes, and who each one works best for.

Best Way to Get From Seville Airport to Cadiz
A private taxi or transfer from Seville Airport to Cádiz takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes and costs around 150 to 195 euros depending on the vehicle. It is the fastest, most direct option with no connections. The bus takes 2 to 3 hours with at least one change. The train requires a transfer in Jerez or El Puerto de Santa Maria. If you are travelling solo with a small bag and time to spare, the bus is manageable. If you have luggage, a group, a family, or a flight arriving after 9pm, book a private transfer.

Private Transfer From Seville Airport to Cadiz
This is what most of my clients choose, and for good reason. A private transfer goes directly from the arrivals hall at SVQ to your hotel in Cádiz. No changes, no waiting at a bus stop with two suitcases, no hunting for the right platform at a station you have never been to.
The driver meets you at arrivals with your name on a board. If your flight is delayed, a good service tracks the flight and adjusts the pickup time without you having to do anything. You are in Cádiz in just over an hour.
Prices vary by vehicle type. A standard sedan fits 1 to 3 passengers comfortably with luggage. For larger groups or families, a van or minivan is the right choice.

Prices are for the whole vehicle, not per person. Split between a family of four and a private transfer costs less per head than the bus, and you arrive in considerably better condition.
Book your transfer directly at cadiztaxipremium.com. Fixed price confirmed before you travel, no surprises at the end.
Bus From Seville Airport to Cadiz
The bus is possible but requires patience and planning. There is no direct bus from Seville Airport to Cádiz. The standard route involves:
- Take the EA (Especial Aeropuerto) bus from SVQ arrivals to Seville city centre, either to Plaza de Armas or Prado de San Sebastian bus stations. That takes around 35 to 45 minutes and costs around 4 euros.
- From Plaza de Armas, take a Comes or Socibus coach to Cadiz. The journey takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes and costs around 12 to 14 euros. Buses run regularly during the day but taper off in the evening.
- Total journey time: 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on connections and waiting time.
This works if you are travelling solo with a small bag, have a daytime arrival, and are not in a hurry. It stops working if you have more than one suitcase, arrive after 9pm, or are travelling with children. The connection at Plaza de Armas requires you to find the right terminal, buy a ticket, and wait with your luggage.
Train From Seville Airport to Cádiz
There is no direct train from Seville Airport to Cádiz. The route requires taking the airport metro or bus into Seville Santa Justa station, then a Renfe train to Cádiz. The train stops at El Puerto de Santa Maria, Jerez de la Frontera, and San Fernando before reaching Cadiz station.
Journey time from Santa Justa to Cádiz is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Add 30 to 40 minutes to get from the airport to Santa Justa and you are looking at 2 hours 15 minutes minimum. Renfe fares vary but expect around 8 to 14 euros per person for the train leg.
The train is a pleasant journey and Cádiz station is centrally located. The downside is the same as the bus: the connection at Santa Justa with luggage is awkward, and late evening trains are infrequent.
Driving From Seville Airport to Cádiz
Renting a car at SVQ and driving to Cádiz takes around 1 hour 20 minutes on the A-4 and then the AP-4 motorway. The drive is straightforward and the road is good.
The complication is cádiz itself. The city is built on a narrow peninsula and the historic centre has very limited parking. Most hotels in the old town do not have on-site parking and the nearest public garages fill up quickly in summer. If you are staying in the historic centre, you will likely need to park outside Puerta de Tierra and walk, or pay for a covered garage.
A rental car makes more sense if your trip includes day trips to the White Villages or the coast, and less sense if you plan to spend most of your time in Cadiz city itself.
If you want the flexibility of a car for excursions without the hassle of driving into the city, our tourist taxi service lets you do day trips to places like Jerez, Vejer, or Arcos without navigating or parking.
Coming From Jerez Airport or Malaga Airport?
SVQ is the most common arrival point for travellers heading to Cadiz, but it is not the only one.
Jerez Airport (XRY) to Cádiz
Jerez Airport is actually closer to Cadiz than Seville Airport. The transfer takes around 35 to 40 minutes and costs around 60 to 75 euros by private taxi. If you have a choice of which airport to fly into, Jerez is the easier arrival for Cadiz. Fewer passengers, faster baggage claim, and a noticeably shorter ride.
The downside is that fewer airlines fly to Jerez, and fares tend to be higher than Seville or Malaga. Worth checking, though.
Malaga Airport (AGP) to Cadiz
Malaga Airport is the largest and most connected airport in southern Spain. The transfer to Cadiz takes around 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours by private transfer, covering approximately 170 kilometres. Costs typically run from 180 to 220 euros for a standard vehicle.
Many UK visitors in particular fly into Malaga and use a private transfer to reach Cadiz directly, particularly if they are staying on the Costa de la Luz. We cover this route regularly.

Group Transfers From Seville Airport to Cadiz
A private transfer becomes even more of a no-brainer for groups. Split the cost between four, five, or six people and the per-person price drops below bus fares while you all travel together, with luggage stowed properly and no standing in queues.
For groups of up to nine passengers, a minivan is the right vehicle. Everyone fits, luggage goes in the back, and you arrive at the hotel together without the chaos of coordinating multiple taxis or keeping track of who has the tickets.
Our Cadiz 9-seater taxi service is specifically designed for this. Book it in advance and confirm passenger and luggage numbers when you do.
For groups larger than nine, we also operate minibus transfers. Contact us directly for a quote on groups of ten or more.
Tips From Your Driver
Before you book
- Book your transfer before you land, not after. Airport transfer availability drops on busy arrival days, especially in summer. The last thing you want at 11pm after a delayed flight is to be comparing prices on your phone in the arrivals hall.
- Always confirm the pickup point when you book. At SVQ, international arrivals exit through a specific area and the meeting point for drivers is usually in the main arrivals hall. Get this detail in writing from whoever you book with.
- Check whether your transfer price is per vehicle or per person. A per-vehicle fixed price is standard for private transfers. If someone quotes you a per-person price, it is probably a shared shuttle and the journey will take longer.
- Ask about flight tracking. A good transfer service monitors your flight number and adjusts if you are delayed. If they do not offer this, factor that in.
On the day
- SVQ is a small airport and baggage claim is fast by Spanish standards. You can usually be out of arrivals within 25 minutes of landing. Do not panic if your driver is waiting near the exit rather than inside.
- The drive from SVQ to Cadiz runs mostly on the A-4 and AP-4. There are tolls on the AP-4. A legitimate transfer service includes tolls in the quoted price. If you are renting a car, budget around 5 to 8 euros for the toll section.
- If you are arriving in Cadiz for the first time, the approach to the city across the bridge is genuinely impressive. The bay, the cathedral dome, the old town spread out on the peninsula. Worth looking up from your phone for the last ten minutes.
Once You Are in Cadiz
The city is compact and most of the historic centre is walkable. Your hotel will likely be in or near the old town, and from there you can reach the cathedral, the market, the beaches, and most of what you came for on foot.
If you plan to use a taxi during your stay for excursions, evening returns, or trips to the beach at Novo Sancti Petri, our Cadiz tourist taxi service covers all of that. We are also the right call if you want a comfortable day trip to Jerez, the White Villages, or anywhere else in the province.

Choosing the right way to travel from Seville Airport to Cadiz depends on your budget, arrival time, luggage, and group size. However, most travellers prefer a direct private transfer because it removes the stress of connections and saves valuable holiday time.

2. How much does a taxi from Seville Airport to Cádiz cost?
A private transfer from SVQ to Cadiz in a standard sedan costs approximately 150 to 165 euros for the whole vehicle. For a van or minivan carrying a family or group, prices range from 175 to 210 euros. These are fixed prices confirmed before the journey, not metered rates.
3. Is there a direct bus from Seville Airport to Cádiz?
No. There is no direct bus service. You need to take the airport bus to Seville city centre, then a separate coach to Cadiz. The full journey with connections takes 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours.
4. What is the best way to get from Seville Airport to Cádiz?
For most travellers, a private transfer is the best option: it is direct, the journey time is predictable, luggage is not a problem, and the per-person cost is reasonable when split between two or more people. The bus is viable for solo travellers on a tight budget arriving during the day. The train requires more logistics than most people want after a long flight.
5. Which airport is closest to Cádiz?
Jerez de la Frontera Airport (XRY) is closer to Cadiz than Seville Airport, at approximately 35 to 40 minutes by private transfer. However, fewer airlines serve Jerez and fares are often higher. Seville Airport (SVQ) has far more routes, especially from the UK, Germany, and North America.
6. Can I book a shared shuttle from Seville Airport to Cádiz?
Shared shuttles exist but are not widely available on this route. They cost less than a private transfer but make multiple stops in Cadiz and the journey takes considerably longer. For groups of two or more, a private transfer works out similarly priced per person and gets you there faster.
7. Do you offer airport transfers from Malaga and Jerez airports to Cádiz?
Yes. We cover transfers from Seville Airport (SVQ), Jerez Airport (XRY), and Malaga Airport (AGP) to Cadiz and surrounding areas. Book through our website for a fixed price quote, or contact us by WhatsApp.
